Colloids,Surfactant based systems like lyotropic liquid crystals, micelles, membranes, vesicles, Gels; DNA.

Experimental studies:                                

Dynamic light scattering, Rheology, Electric Field effects, Optical microscopy, SAXS and SANS, Coherent x-ray scattering, X-ray fluorescence correlation spectroscopy.

(c)Theoretical studies :                                                           

Density functional theory, computer simulations- Monte- Carlo, Brownian dynamics and Molecular dynamics.

2. Raman Spectroscopy :

Semiconductor superlattices, Fullerenes, Carbon Nanotubes, Strongly; electron correlated oxides, Nanocrystalline materials, Bulk semiconductors, One-dimensional conductors exhibiting; charge density wave instabilities, High-temperature superconductors; Raman scattering under ultra high pressure using diamond anvil cell. Time resolved spectroscopy: Photon Control of ionic motion using femtosecond lasers-squeezed phonons.

3. Brillouin Scattering :  

      Semiconductors, Manganites exhibiting Charge ordering,    CDW Systems.
