It is my great pleasure to announce the conference "Accretion processes around compact objects" to be held in July 14-16, 2010. The aim of this "specific" meeting is to get together the "accretion" community around. The emphasis would be to understand various observed data carrying information of accretion and outflow/jet of the compact sources, based on suitable models. The already launched satellites have brought so much information that we ought to have more concerted efforts to understand what all this information actually means; for example the physical origin of QPO, discontinuity in certain accretion dynamics, amazing temporal variability of black hole candidates, maximum possible spin parameter of black holes etc. Thus, it would be of great advantage to actually come to the forefront of this subject by getting together a group people (theorists and observers) working in this topic. Particular emphasis would also be given to develop specific science themes for ASTROSAT. This is, to best of my knowledge, the first conference hosted by IISc aiming to satisfy the above mentioned goals in the branch of high energy astrophysics, particularly accretion processes.
Here is the schedule of programme.
