Facilities

The experimental facilities available in our group are:

  1. Cryogen free dilution refrigerator mounted on a vibration-free platform. The fridge is equipped with a 16T magnet and in-situ sample rotator – the fridge is wired and filtered for ultra-low-noise electrical transport measurements.
  2. He3  cryostat (liquid helium based) with 8T magnet – wired and filtered for ultra-low-noise electrical transport measurements.
  3. Cryogen free 1 K refrigerator mounted on a vibration-free platform. The fridge is equipped with a 14T magnet and in-situ sample rotator – the fridge is wired and filtered for ultra-low-noise electrical transport measurements.
  4. Various cryostats (both cryogen-free and wet systems) to perform electrical measurements down to 4.2K.
  5.  Microscopes with automated manipulator stages inside a glove-box – the facilities are used to prepare high-quality van der Waals heterostructures in an inert environment.
  6. Thermal evaporation systems.

We also utilize the extensive research facilities available in the Physics department  and at the National Nanofabrication Centre (NNfC) and the Micro and Nano Characterization facility (MNCF)
