(IISc is called by local people as Tata Institute. At any of the gates, you can ask the security to direct you to the New Physics Department.)
From the Airport:
Bangalore City has only one airport, namely, the Kempegowda International Airport. Airport-to-city transport information can be obtained here.
There are app-based cab services such as UBER and OLA. There is also something called the Airport Taxi, which can also be booked at the airport on arrival.
For those staying in hotels, you may pre-book airport pickup and drop-off shuttles provided by the hotel during the hotel reservations.
You may also pre-book a cab using the IISc-authorized cab services.
There are also bus shuttles between the airport and the city. The nearest bus stop to the Institute is called the Mekhri Circle. You can book an Autor-rikshaw or UBER/ OLA Taxi to the Institute from there. This is not recommended for first-time travelers.
From Railway stations:
From most of the railway stations in Bangalore, you may get a UBER, OLA or auto-rickshaw, or bus. Note that Bangalore City does not have any roaming cabs/taxis.
You may also pre-book a cab using the IISc-authorized cab services.
From Guest Houses:
You can walk to the New Physics Department building which is near the D-gate. There is Transvahan (e-Rickshaw) service inside the campus.
